We recently celebrated the creative photographic talents of students and staff, in memory of De Lisle student and keen photographer Joe Humphries.

Joe tragically died of SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) while out jogging with his friend in October 2012 and subsequently the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust has been set up to create a new generation of young lifesavers and inspire young people.

First place in the competition judged by professional wedding and portrait photographer Darren Cresswell went to Year 13 student Francesca, in second place was Shyam, from Year 10 and in third place was Matthew from Year 13.

Thomas Selby in Year 12, Ben Dawkins in Year 9 and William Crann in Year 11 all received highly commended awards for their photographs.

Hayley Badock from the College Media Department said: ‘The response from students has again been overwhelming with over 100 entries; the competition is now a huge event in the college year. It always makes me so proud to see the quality of entries and the students there on the day, discussing the photographs and relishing the opportunity to display their creativity.”
