GCSE Results 2018
Students are jubilant after achieving record-breaking results in this year’s GCSE exams. Feelings of nerves and anxiety were quickly dispelled by euphoria as students opened their envelopes. Despite the increased level of demand of challenging 9 – 1 graded GCSEs, many students swept the board with a raft of top grades at 7, 8 and 9. Attainment across the board was well above national average values. Amongst the highest achieving students at De Lisle College were Max, Jada, Emma, Jasmine and Azel, who between them gained 28 grade 9s, 12 grade 8s and 4 grade 7s. All five students are eagerly looking forward to beginning their A level studies at De Lisle College next week.
New Headteacher, Dr John Pye said: “I am delighted to be joining a college with such incredibly gifted students and committed staff. I know that the students will flourish in the Sixth Form at De Lisle, and will be fantastic role models for younger pupils. I wish them the very best of luck as they embark on their A level studies.”
