National Careers Week
In preparation for National Careers Week, which was held between 2-7 March 2020, and to support students with their GCSE and post-16 choices, Year 9 and 11 students spent the morning of 27 February focusing on careers and employability skills. We were joined for the morning by the Careers Team from Leicester College, who spoke to over 400 students about the local labour market, jobs of the future and the importance of maintaining a positive social media image. Students in Year 11 also had the option of attending a talk from Loughborough College staff whilst workshops and mock assessment centres were provided for Year 11 and 12 students by the National Apprenticeships Organisation.
Ongoing careers support is available from the college’s Careers and Guidance Officer and students have access to a wide range of careers information through the UniFrog system which includes key information on careers, university and more.
