Belsen 75 Visit
In February we were given the opportunity to participate in the Belsen 75 project where we travelled to the concentration and POW camp of Bergen-Belsen in Germany. Here, we visited the exhibition, the mass graves, the memorial of Anne Frank and the Displaced Persons Camp. Overall, the atmosphere was eerie and saddening, leaving a profound impact on us.
The entire project has reinforced the importance of remembering the holocaust and fighting to prevent such prejudice happening again in our lifetime. In response to our experience, we are educating groups of students on what we learnt and saw, to repeat the message that horrific events like this must not happen again.
