GCSE Results 2020
After days of uncertainty, we were delighted to be able to share GCSE and level 2 BTEC results with our Year 11 students. In this exceptional year during which students have had so many difficulties to confront, students were finally awarded the grades submitted to the exam boards by the school. Since students were unable to sit exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic, class teachers, subject leaders, and senior leaders worked together to determine the fairest and most accurate grade for each student. Our students had been working hard for months, diligently preparing for their GCSE exams; all the staff at the college were determined that the commitment and achievements of our Year 11 students would not go unrecognised.
Many students received an outstanding set of grades. 76% of grades were awarded at grade 4 or higher; 59% of grades were given at grade 5 or higher; nearly a quarter of all grades awarded were at grades 7, 8 or 9. Seven students were awarded grade 8 or grade 9 in all (or all but one) of their subjects, such was the exceptional standard of work they had demonstrated across a range of assessments and other tasks: Amelia and Isla (ten grade 9s), Melissa (eight grade 9s and three grade 8s), Patrick and Shona (eight grade 9s and two grade 8s), Darcie (six grade 9s, four grade 8s, and a grade 7 in further maths), and Jessica (six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7). All seven students are now looking forward to continuing their studies in the Sixth Form at De Lisle.
We wish all our students the very best of luck as they move onto the next stage of their education or training.
