The Jesse Tree

Before we broke up, our year 7 and 8 students spent one of their RE lessons in the chapel preparing for Christmas; we did this by looking at the Jesse Tree. This tradition focuses on short pieces of scripture that all point towards the coming of the Messiah and gave us an opportunity to reflect on the real importance of Christmas. Before students came down to the chapel, they spent a lesson creating their own Jesse Tree decorations and writing messages of hope on them. These were then sent to local care homes and our local parish priests. As you can see the decorations are now on display in one of the care homes.

Thank you very much to all the students who put effort into creating these small tokens of hope and encouragement.
