Oxbridge Admissions Talk
On Tuesday 28 September, Luke Maw from University of Oxford’s St. Edmund Hall College visited De Lisle to speak to students about the Oxbridge admissions process.
Luke spoke to a group of 40 Year 12 students about Oxbridge (Universities of Oxford and Cambridge) and also gave advice on applying to other competitive universities. His presentation included:
- Choosing a subject;
- Why Oxbridge?
- The Collegiate system and tutorials;
- What universities are looking for in applicants;
- The application process, including supercurricular activities;
Luke then spent further time with a group of Year 13 students currently applying to either the University of Oxford or Cambridge. During this time students were given final advice regarding personal statements, admissions assessments and also looked ahead to interviews.
