Congratulations to Year 12 student, Lottie, on her superb achievements over the past few months representing De Lisle, and then England, in the pole vault.

'I have been a pole vaulter for three years and, despite the pandemic, successfully represented De Lisle at the English Schools in July and came joint 5th in the England Athletics National Championships in August. As a result, at the beginning of September, I was selected to represent England in the National School Games. This meant that I got the opportunity to compete at Loughborough University as one of the top 8 in the UK for pole vault. From there I was then put into one of the seven teams within athletics, mine was the 'Los Angeles All Stars' team.

The competition was set out over three days, staying on the campus for the whole time. The Opening Ceremony was on the first day, where I got to meet my teammates and celebrate the achievement of being selected. We also got our kit in preparation for competing the next day.

On the Friday I competed. It was a really great experience for me, especially competing against the best in the country and one that I will never forget.'

Well done Lottie!
