De Lisle Remembers

Today, students in all year groups took time to reflect on the sacrifices of service men and women, whose bravery and commitment enable us to enjoy freedom today.  In this centenary year of the Royal British Legion, students explored the origins of the poppy as the symbol of remembrance, heard eye-witness accounts of those who served in the First World War, and learnt about the vital work carried out by the Legion today.  We were particularly fortunate to have Mrs Allsobrook, from the Learning Support Department, play the Last Post for us.
