Year 13 Theology student and Head Girl, Darcie, has been short-listed as part of a prestigious nationwide essay competition run by the University Of St Mary’s in Twickenham.

Darcie entered the competition in year 12 and has recently been invited to an awards ceremony with Cardinal Vincent Nichols in recognition of her excellent work. Darcie writes, “Taking part in St. Mary’s University Essay Competition was a wonderful opportunity to use my knowledge and critical thinking acquired from A level Religious Studies. The question of discussion was “The Bible is the supreme authority for Christians”, where I considered different interpretations of scriptures, other ways in which a Christian may be morally guided and the ethical principle of agape.”

We are extremely proud of Darcie’s achievements and wish her luck at the forthcoming awards ceremony.
