Reading for Pleasure - Library Reading Challenge

Posted on: November 26th 2021College Events

Research has shown that reading for pleasure has many benefits, including improvements in comprehension, writing, vocabulary, general knowledge, improved empathy, and wellbeing.

Reading is an exercise in empathy, an exercise in walking in someone else’s shoes for a while.

This term, students in all year groups have been invited to take part in a library reading challenge. Leaflets with a list of books have been available in the library, the list includes books of different genre and length suitable for each particular year group. When a student has read four books and written a review of the book, they receive a praise point for each book and prizes for the best reviews.
