We were pleased to welcome representatives from the Army into school on Thursday 20 January. Students from Year 9 and 10 took part in a series of activities including an interactive teamworking STEM activity. There was also a brief on roles and careers, with display equipment, careers leaflets and a chance for students to ask questions. There was also a JACKAL vehicle, which students were allowed to view and given the opportunity to ask questions about its functions. The vehicle was also on display for other students to get up close to during the afternoon.
Students were advised to search “Army Jobs” to find out more about the wide range of careers available, or to look into local cadet groups if they were interested in gaining more experience. We plan to invite more armed forces representatives into school in the future to speak to other interested students.
