Year 9 Synagogue Visit

Posted on: June 8th 2022College Events

Over the course of three days, all of Year 9 had the opportunity to visit the Orthodox Jewish Synagogue in Leicester.

We had the chance to explore the history of the Jewish community in Leicester, where we learnt about what it is like to be an Orthodox Jew today. We got to explore the imagery, symbols and traditions of Jewish culture, and then had the opportunity to see and explore the Synagogue itself. It was fascinating to understand the parallels between Judaism and Christianity, highlighting the Abrahamic origins of both faiths.

Thank you to Laurie, David, Sandy and the whole Jewish community of Leicester for allowing us to enter their space. We look forward to working with them again soon.
