Posted on: June 10th 2022College Events

De Lisle's athletics track and Loughborough University's international athletics stadium were the venues for Sports Day 2022, with hundreds of students in year 7, 8, 9 and 10 taking part and supporting each other in 12 track and field events.

Congratulations to Clitherow who beat last year's winners, Sherwin, by 66 points. There was also a great battle between Sherwin and More for second place and some excellent individual performances from Fisher house. The final standings were as follows:

1st Clitherow - 873 points

2nd Sherwin - 807 points

3rd More - 806 points

4th Fisher - 768 points

The following long-standing school records were broken and the successful students were awarded medals by Dr Pye in the presentation ceremony.

Year 8

Thank you to Loughborough University for allowing us to use their world-class facilities after a two-year Covid-enforced absence, and to De Lisle staff who looked after the students so wonderfully on the day.

Congratulations to all the participants from the four houses who competed so enthusiastically in the track and field events. Thank you to the Sports Representatives in each tutor group who organised their teams, and to the spectators who provided such a supportive atmosphere for the athletes.
