JHMT Photography Competition 2018
In memory of De Lisle student and keen photographer Joe Humphries we held our fifth JHMT and De Lisle Photography Competition on 20 November 2018. The standard of entries was once again incredibly high, showcasing the creative talents of both students and staff.
Joe tragically died of SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) while out jogging with his friend in October 2012 and subsequently the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust was set up to create a new generation of young lifesavers and to inspire young people.
First place in the competition judged by local professional photographer Jack Ford went to Year 13 student Ola, in second place was Greg (Year 13), with third place awarded to Sam (Year 12).
Alexandra (Year 7), Austin (Year 7) and Ryan (Year 13) all received highly commended awards for their photographs.
In the staff competition Mrs Richardson, Mrs Smith and Mrs Lee-Jenkinson were awarded first, second and third respectively.
Katie Kurnatowski from the College Media Department said, 'Yet again we have been overwhelmed by the support for the photography competition with over 130 entries. It is wonderful to see Joe remembered by our students and staff through this event which gives them the opportunity to see their work and photos showcased in college. Special thanks must go to Jack Ford for judging the competition and to Head Boy James for helping to organise the event.'
