Belgium Battlefields Trip

Posted on: February 15th 2019Trips & Expeditions

On Friday 15 February we travelled to Ypres in Belgium where we had a guided tour of the war memorials and visited a German graveyard, Langemark, which was very solemn and upsetting.

We also visited Tyne Cot War Memorial and had a minute of silence for Cameron’s great uncle. After this we went to Menin Gate where myself and Cameron laid a wreath for my great uncle, Walter. I wrote a message on the wreath to ensure that he is remembered. I am very pleased that I managed to find him so that he could be remembered for as long as possible. Overall, the trip was very enjoyable as any relatives were remembered once again.
