National Apprenticeship Week
On Friday 8 March Luke Carr from the Department of Work and Pensions visited us to deliver a workshop to a group of Year 11s. This was a very informative event which enabled our young people to understand what an apprenticeship is, the different levels of apprenticeship and the skills employers look for in potential candidates. The group were also able to search for, and compare different apprenticeships online by accessing the Gov.UK/apply-apprenticeship website.
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week further, our youngers students in years 7 to 10 also had a quiz to complete to help dispel common myths surrounding apprenticeships.
