De Lisle Sixth Form are pleased to be working with Career Ready, a national social mobility charity, to offer a range of employability masterclasses to Year 12 students.

Starting with ‘Know Yourself’, last week students attended a talk on self-awareness and core values. Following this, there will be one masterclass per term delivered by volunteers from the local business community.  Future topics include Communicating and Networking, Success at Interview and Preparing for Work.

We are grateful to Emily from Career Ready, who is coordinating the programme, and SEGRO, who are sponsoring the programme.  Locally, SEGRO have developed and manage the Logistics Park at the East Midlands Gateway.

As part of the programme, following a competitive application process, a core group of students will take part in mentoring, workplace visits and a visit to SEGRO offices in central London next month.  There will also be the opportunity for paid internships in July.
