A group of Year 7 girls took part in a Robogals challenge, during an afternoon spent off-timetable last week.

The students worked with volunteers from Loughborough University and learned how to use maths and computer science skills to programme Lego Mindstorm robots in a series of group challenges.

They used teamwork, creative thinking, problem solving and other key skills from their subjects, and each group successfully programmed their robot.

The afternoon was fun, engaging and we are grateful for the volunteers for giving up their time!  We look forward to inviting Robogals back into the school in the new year to run a longer programme of activities with Year 8s.
