On Tuesday, 18 students from Years 7 – 13 at De Lisle travelled to English Martyrs’ School in Leicester to join with students from the other 22 schools in our trust for a special Mass to celebrate the Feast of St Thomas Aquinas.
This Mass was the culmination of a week of reflections on the virtues that St Thomas Aquinas had identified to help a person to grow in holiness. The Mass reminded us that we are all called to holiness through living the virtues of temperance, fortitude, prudence, justice, faith, hope and love.
Hugh and Laura were pleased to carry the De Lisle shield to the front of the auditorium at the start of Mass. It was a representation of the prayers of the whole De Lisle community being brought to the celebration of the Mass. A number of our older students served with great reverence on the altar during Mass and other students read impeccably, providing explanations of the importance of gathering for Mass and of the Eucharist. They were all exemplary ambassadors for the college.
St Thomas Aquinas, pray for us!
