Visit to University of Leicester

A group of 24 students from Year 10’s STEM Pathway attended an event at the University of Leicester’s medical school this week.

Students took part in a series of workshops, working in small groups alongside GPs to understand their role in the NHS. Students were shown how GPs prioritise cases and support patients by using their skills to take patient histories during the diagnostic process. Student feedback was very positive, and we really appreciated the time spent by the medical professionals to inform students about their role by working with them in small groups through the day.

Students also had the opportunity to tour the campus, led by student ambassadors, and enjoyed seeing the impressive teaching facilities and student spaces.
