Business and Economics Talk – Weetabix Food Company

Students from GCSE and A Level Business Studies and Economics were fortunate to hear directly from Mr Stuart Branch, People and Technology Director at the Weetabix Food Company on Tuesday 7 February.

After a quiz, where they learned about the sustainability goals of Weetabix and the company’s community work, students heard about how businesses have responded to recent events seen in the news headlines.  Students also heard useful information related to their current courses, such as about marketing strategies, including the 5 P’s of marketing, and how new technologies are used in manufacturing and the supply chain.  Concluding with advice on finding a job for the future that they will love to do, students were very engaged by the afternoon and we are grateful to Mr Branch for the time he took to visit us in-person at De Lisle – and the additional time spent discussing careers advice with Year 13 students as they look ahead to future careers.

Our thanks also go to Speakers For Schools, a national charity who connect schools with influential speakers, for setting up this talk.
