At De Lisle College we receive students into Year 7 and Year 12 through the normal admission round and from time to time we admit students during the academic year should places become available. Please read this section carefully. It includes our Admissions Policy which you are advised to read in full.

De Lisle is the only secondary Catholic College in Loughborough serving the Catholic communities of the city and nearby villages and towns. Places are also available for students from other backgrounds whose parents wish them to be educated in a Catholic environment.

If you require help in making your choice of school or with the admissions process in general, your local authority can give you information about a Choice Adviser who will be able to support you. General advice about Catholic schools can also be obtained from the Nottingham Diocese Education Service (01332 293833)

Should you wish to speak to someone at the school prior to making an application, please telephone Mrs Hamilton at the school or email: enquiries@delisle.leics.sch.uk

Admissions

The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body.

If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this to the school office.

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round, for example a year 6 into year 7 application, will be added to the schools’ waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The waiting list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.

If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the relevant Local Authority by completing the LA Common Application Form and following instructions on the LA website.

If applying for a place on faith grounds you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this to the school office.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements will be applied.

Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.

Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.  You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with your local authority.
