GXO Workplace Visit – Year 12
On Thursday 20 May, Year 12 students who are part of the Career Ready programme visited GXO sites in Rugby and Lutterworth for workplace visits. GXO are a global logistics company that operate across 27 countries and are a world-leader in supply chain solutions.
Throughout the day, students gained an insight into business operations. At Rugby, they heard about the important role logistics plays in our everyday lives, as well as to the national economy. They saw a presentation from GXO staff about routes into the professions, including higher and degree apprenticeships and graduate training programmes. Students worked on group tasks, which gave them a first-hand experience of an assessment centre challenge (commonly used in the recruitment process for future jobs and apprenticeships). At Lutterworth, they saw a state-of-the-art automation process in operation and met additional management staff, engineers and had the opportunity to ask questions.
We are grateful to Jack, Gary and all the staff involved for being so welcoming and offering insights into the world of work at GXO.
