Students with an interest in physical, human and environmental geography will find this course particularly engaging as it offers much understanding of our planet. Knowledge and understanding of the core themes along with fieldwork and research skills are key features of this course. An element of out-of-classroom activity, both teacher led and by independent research augments the class based study of geography at A level. The course includes traditional geographical topics such as ‘tectonic processes’, ‘globalisation’ and ‘glaciated landscapes’ with less familiar themes such as the ‘Diverse Places’ adding a new dynamic to students’ geographical studies.
