A-Level Psychology

In Psychology you will look at various different approaches that explain what makes us the way we are. This includes looking at the extent to which our mental life and behaviour may be accounted for by our biology, environment, cognitive processes, and the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind. You will explore a wide variety of theories on all aspects of behaviour, such as early childhood, the power of groups, genetic vulnerability of mental illness and the role of memory. The importance of critically evaluating evidence is explored through an in-depth study of research methods. Critical analysis is a key feature of Psychology and you will discuss and apply wider questions such as ‘are we born or made’, ‘can we choose or is our behaviour determined’. Psychology compliments a wide range of A level subjects.
