Medicine Calling
Following in-school workshops for Year 10 and 11 students last week, a group of Year 8 and 9 students had the opportunity to visit University of Leicester this week to experience workshops on their campus. Held in their new Sir Bob Burgess building, students took part in activities relating to mental health nursing, psychiatry and clinical psychology. These were led by professionals in these fields and a current nursing student; each session was interactive and engaging. Students also took part in a campus tour, visiting teaching buildings, the students’ union, library and sports facilities. The day ended with a careers talk from Nicola Lumb, who also organised the day for us.
We are very grateful for the staff and students at University of Leicester, who were all willing to answer student questions throughout the day.
