Visits to University of Leicester
On Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 April, groups of Year 9 and 12 students spent the day at University of Leicester.
Year 9 students experienced a CSI-themed day, taking part in law, criminology, and forensics workshops – with the goal of solving a (fictional) crime that had occurred on campus. Students enjoyed the range of activities and valued finding out what the future opportunity of university would be like.
Year 12 students experienced either a Business and Economics or Medicine and Healthcare Subject Insight Day. The days offered students a range of individually selected workshops, linked to students’ areas of interest. Medicine and Healthcare options included: Radiography, Medicine, Nursing, Operating Department Practice, as well as hearing from professionals, an A and E workshop, guidance on personal statements and UCAT assessments, and even a dissection lab. Meanwhile, Business and Economics students experienced: Accounts and Finance, Management, Marketing, Business Innovation, and a stock market simulation game.
We are very grateful to staff and students at University of Leicester for arranging and running the two days, and to Miss Whitfield and Mr Morris for accompanying the trips.
