Happy World Book Day!
World Book Day is a charity event held annually on the first Thursday in March in the UK and Ireland with the mission to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.
Here at De Lisle, reading for work and pleasure is seen as a priority and recognised as the foundation upon which all other essential skills are built.
To celebrate the day, staff from different departments and the library dressed as book characters and students had the opportunity to take part in a Superhero Teacher Quiz and a Whodunit quiz.
