This is a highly academic and challenging subject recognised as a ‘facilitator’ subject by Russell Group universities. It is made up of three parts:
- The English Revolution 1625-1660
- The Quest for Political Stability: Germany, 1871-1991
- A historical enquiry question which will be generated by candidates but will cover Russian history between 1825-1941
You will investigate a variety of themes, issues and debates relating to this fascinating time in world history.
Year 13: Two examinations and one 3500 word historical enquiry.

Minimum grade 5 in GCSE History or grade 5 in English if not studied at GCSE
This A level would lead directly into subject related university courses and careers, and indirectly into a wide range of higher education courses and career choices.
