This Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity (equivalent to one A level) provides an opportunity for you to be introduced to the sport sector. This qualification supports progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other vocational or general qualifications.
You will study three mandatory units: body systems and the effects of physical activity, sports coaching and activity leadership and sport organisation and development. The mandatory content will allow you to gain an understanding of sport in the wider contexts of coaching and leadership, anatomy and physiology, the body’s short and long term response to physical activity and the framework of sport in the UK and the organisations involved. You’ll also develop transferable skills such as planning, communication, adaptability and leadership.
There are five units taught over two years, two of these externally assessed and three are internally assessed.

Minimum grade 4 in both GCSE English and GCSE Maths
