During the A level French course, you will study a variety of engaging themes which will allow you to continue to develop your grammatical and linguistic skills alongside your understanding of the culture and society of countries where French is spoken. In year 12, you will study the film, L’auberge espagnole and in year 13, you will study the book, Un sac de billes. You will also undertake an individual research project, which will allow you to develop your own interests through the independent study of your chosen topic.
Paper 1: Listening, reading, writing = 50%
Paper 2: Writing: dossier cinéma et littérature = 20%
Paper 3: Speaking = 30%

Minimum grade 5 in GCSE French
This A level would lead directly into subject related university courses and careers, and indirectly into a wide range of higher education courses and career choices.
