Further Maths is an A level qualification which broadens and deepens the mathematics covered in the main A level.
Further Maths is taken alongside an A level in Mathematics. The qualification is linear which means that you sit all exams at the end of the two year course. Students overwhelmingly find it to be an enjoyable, rewarding, stimulating and empowering experience. The qualification is highly regarded and is warmly welcomed by universities.
There will be a 6 hour assessment split over 4 exams.
Core pure: 50% of total A level.
Mechanics minor: 16⅔% of the total A level
Statistics minor: 16⅔% of the total A level
Modelling with algorithms: 16⅔% of the total A level
OCR (MEI)
Minimum grade 8 in GCSE Maths
This A level would lead directly into subject related university courses and careers, and indirectly into a wide range of higher education courses and career choices.
