A-Level PE

Physical education will give you a breadth of knowledge in physical activity and sport performance. The course consists of:

Paper 1:
Factors affecting participation in physical activity in sport
Section A: Applied anatomy and physiology
Section B: Skill acquisition
Section C: Sport and Society

Paper 2:
Factors affecting optimal performance in physical activity and sport
Section A: Exercise physiology and biomechanics
Section B: Sport psychology
Section C: Sport and society and technology in sport

Non exam assessment:
Practical performance in physical activity and sport. Students assessed as a performer or coach in the full sided version of one activity. Written analysis of performance.

Paper 1: Written exam: 2 hours / 105 marks / 35%
Paper 2: Written exam: 2 hours / 105 marks / 35%
Non exam assessment: 90 marks / 30%

Minimum grade 5 in GCSE Physical Education

This A level would lead directly into subject related university courses and careers, and indirectly into a wide range of higher education courses and career choices.
