A Level Results 2023
De Lisle students achieve fantastic results!
Students at De Lisle are celebrating an incredible set of A Level results today. Despite a return to the pre-pandemic conditions of 2019 (students sitting full papers with no advance information, marked strictly), De Lisle students have performed substantially better than their peers nationally in 2019. 31% of entries received top grades of A* and A, compared with just 25% of entries nationally. At De Lisle, an amazing 82% of entries were at grade C or higher, against 75% nationally. Over 20% of the Year 13 cohort achieved at least one A*, placing their achievement in the top 7% of all students nationally (based on 2019). The attainment of our students is all the more remarkable given the fact that their one and only experience of taking public exams was sitting their A Levels this summer. Despite understandable nerves at the time, the students have acquitted themselves brilliantly. We are so proud of them all.
There have been so many individual stories of success. Amy (four A* grades) will be studying natural sciences at Cambridge University. Matthew and Arrian (one A and two A* grades each) are both off to study medicine at Leeds and Imperial College respectively. Libby (three A grades) will be reading French at Oxford University, Evie (two A* grades and one A) will be studying sports science at Loughborough University, and Sam (A*, B and C) will embark on a film making and creative technology degree at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts. However, it’s not just about A levels – students on applied courses have been equally impressive: for example, 80% of entries in Health and Social Care were at distinction or distinction*.
We congratulate all our students on their wonderful achievements!
