Students considering ‘Early Entry’ Applications (Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary) should have already informed Mr Greenwood and received emails with specific guidance.  If you are interested in these courses, but haven’t informed Mr Greenwood, please contact him by email (chris.greenwood@delisle.leics.sch.uk).

An Overview of the Careers Education Programme for KS5

12 Employability skills workshops – delivered by an external provider, one of which being focussed on the local labour market.

Unifrog Launch.

NCS presentation

Series of Learning for Life Lessons (with a focus on post-18 options).

Higher Education – introductory talk covering the UCAS application process – delivered by a local university.

Apprenticeships talk (including higher and degree apprenticeships) – delivered by employers and employees/apprentices.

Parents Evening – careers presence.

Visit to the Higher Education Fair.

CV Writing workshops – delivered by a local university.

Recruitment and selection workshops – delivered by external providers.

Work Experience preparation talks – delivered by employers.

13 Series of Learning for Life Lessons (with a focus on making post-18 choices and applications).

Workshops to support students considering Apprenticeships or alternative post-18 routes.

Parents Evening – careers presence.

Student Finance presentation to students and parents. Results day support.

We also continue to work with students taking gap years to support their progression.

In addition to the above CEIAG programme for all students there will be a range of targeted and optional opportunities and events in all year groups.

Previous examples have included:

  • Various visiting guest speakers from a range of sectors
  • 12 Oxbridge visits and workshops
  • Sixth Form higher education experience days (including Sport, STEM and English and Humanities)
