Year 11 Leavers Mass

On Friday, we had the privilege of welcoming our year 11 students and their parents to come together for Mass, in thanksgiving for their time at De Lisle. During a wonderful celebration, Fr Jonathan reminded us all to carry the love of God into our future lives.

At the end of Mass, special messages of gratitude were played from both students and the form tutors that have cared for them so well during their time at De Lisle.

This magnificent occasion also gave us the opportunity to recognise the fantastic individual qualities of our Year 11 students, with a number of awards being given out.

Our final award of the day was issued to Sebastien who took home The Sparke Award. This award is issued by Margaret and Barry Mizen, who visited De Lisle in March of this Year. They work for peace, hope and forgiveness in memory of their son Jimmy Mizen who was tragically killed the day after his 16th birthday in 2008. They issue the Sparkle Award to young people who live in the way Jimmy did – an individual who is kind, caring and helpful, someone the school thinks has sparkled in everything they do. As a school, we were proud and honoured to nominate Sebastien for this award.

We wish to thank Fr Johnathon and all our wonderful guest for joining us and wish Year 11 the very best of luck for the future. We look forward to seeing them again on results day.
