The year 9 Mandarin class enjoyed a food-themed trip to Birmingham on Monday 24 January, organised by our MEP partner school, Beauchamp College.
They visited the Wing Yip Chinese supermarket, where they had the chance to choose some traditional Chinese foods to try. Many students sampled bubble tea for the first time, with mixed responses! They then wandered around China Town, and were excited to be able to understand a number of Chinese characters on signs and in windows. They rounded the day off with a delicious meal at Ming Moon restaurant, where teachers were astonished to witness the volume of spring rolls, noodles and sweet and sour chicken that students were able to put away in a short time!
Many thanks to Miss Bruce and Mrs Kurnatowski, who accompanied the trip, and to Mrs White at Beauchamp College, for organising the outing. Well done, too, to the year 9 students, for embracing the challenge of trying new foods, and for their exemplary behaviour.
