Year 9 Sustainability Challenge Day – Charnwood Science Campus

On Wednesday 30 October, a group of Year 9 students represented De Lisle at the Charnwood Science Campus Sustainability Challenge Day. Along with those attending from 5 other local schools, students met a range of local STEM employers and universities including Charnwood Discovery, Kindeva, University of Leicester, Almac, Medilink and Loughborough University.

After networking with the employers, asking questions about their work and seeing demonstrations of their equipment, the students were given the challenge of presenting a sustainable solution for the future to a judging panel made of the employers and universities.

This was a great opportunity to see the kind of work taking place locally at the Science Campus and we are grateful to the staff from all organisations in attendance for an inspiring and interesting day.
